Who We Are

We are looking for partners to help build a community where everyone has a decent place to live.  We rely on volunteer labor to build safe, decent and affordable homes for local families.  These families must have: 1, Ability to Pay, 2, Need for decent shelter, and 3, Willingness to partner.

Through the donation of money, materials, and time, we have been able to build 106 homes in Douglas & Jefferson counties. Through partnering with the families, Habitat provides a hand up, not a hand out.

What We Do

Lawrence Habitat for Humanity works with low-income families to give them the opportunity own their home. Families put in 200 hours of sweat equity towards building their home as well as work on other family's homes alongside hundreds of volunteers from the community. When a home is finish, the family purchases the home with a zero interest mortgage. Lawrence Habitat for Humanity started its mission in 1989.
