Lawrence Humane Society

We humanely shelter approximately 3,500 dogs, cats, and other small animals each year. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff and volunteers work with adopters to match them with an animal that suits their lifestyle. Lost and Found Programs help reunite owners and their pets. We offer microchips to reduce the number of unidentified lost pets. We shelter stray animals for the City of Lawrence and Douglas County.

The Lawrence Humane Society nurtures the human-animal bond by providing shelter, care and advocacy for homeless and abused animals, as well as resources for the people and pets in our community.
