Who We Are

We are not only Kansas' oldest and largest producer market, we are a vendor-run 501c3 non-profit farmers' market. The Lawrence Farmers' Market offers a festive, bustling atmosphere with the freshest, healthiest food. All of our vendors live within 50 miles of Lawrence and are the producers of the products they directly sell to consumers at our Saturday morning market. We consist of more than 70 growers, ranchers, bakers, and fine craftspeople, making Lawrence Farmers' Market the place to go for the freshest and finest quality produce, meat, flowers, plants, and baked goods.

What We Do

The mission of the Lawrence Farmers Market is to provide children and adults in the Lawrence, KS area, with locally grown foods and farm products.  This will be accomplished by improving access to local, healthy, affordable food through a direct farm-to-consumer marketing venue that will serve diverse populations, including those of low income.

The Lawrence Farmers' Market strives to make local and healthy food affordable for all, particularly through our participation in accepting SNAP at market since 2006 (the first farmers market in Kansas to accept SNAP-EBT) and now through our participation in Double Up Food Bucks (part of the pilot program since 2016). Starting in 2024 we launched a new token pilot program called Double Up Protein Bucks to give more money to SNAP users specifically for proteins like eggs and meat.

Other goals that the Lawrence Farmers Market strives to achieve are increased education and support of Lawrence-area agriculture. The Lawrence Farmers Market believes that small, local farms are essential to the local economy and is committed to making economic and educational connections between Lawrence-area residents and local farmers.
