Join local Girl Scouts, KU students and the community on this popular spring workday as we spruce up the camp for another exciting year of outdoor activities. Individuals, groups of all sizes, and families welcome...there will be tasks for all ages, including: honeysuckle removal and burning; extensive planting of native trees, shrubs, wildflowers and grasses; campsite cleanup and renovation, stocking woodpiles; trail work; litter pickup; stream, woods and prairie restoration projects; gardening; mulching and more! No experience necessary--instruction and oversight provided. Any amount of time appreciated...come and go as you please.
Wear outdoor clothing and TOTALLY ENCLOSED SHOES you don't mind getting dirty. Sunscreen and bug repellent recommended. Due to limited parking, carpooling is highly encouraged. Everyone must sign a waiver. No unaccompanied minors under 15. Minors 15 and above may request a waiver ahead of time to be signed by a parent. Gloves, tools, ice water and refreshments provided...please bring your own water bottle along with your smile!
