Volunteer: AscEnd of Life DoulaAn AscEnd of Life Doula is an intensively trained hospice volunteer who provides non-medical holistic support and comfort to the patient and their family, which may include education and guidance as well as emotional and spiritual care. Doulas receive continual education and mentoring through online courses and our mentoring program. Doulas at Ascend will establish trust and build relationships with patients and families, focusing on what is most important and being an advocate of their wishes. Doulas can provide companionship and support with deep listening and care. Doulas do not replace our professional, medical hospice staff.
