Welcome new donations to the library!
What you'll do:
- Inspect newly-donated items for quality
- Send quality donations to the book sale prep area
- Send damaged donations to recycling
- Lift books, bags of books and even boxes of books
When we need help:
- One-hour shifts, any time the library is open
- No regular, weekly commitment is required
Why this helps:
- Books that are in good shape are sold to support library programs that promote literacy and build community
- Books that aren't in good shape are responsibly repurposed
This ISN'T the right volunteer spot for you if:
- You aren't a fan of dust
- You can't bear to recycle a damaged book
- You can't lift 25 lbs.
This IS the right spot for you if:
- You love all kinds of books
- You like finding hidden treasures
- You don't mind recycling books that have been too well-loved
- You can lift 25 lbs.
