LINK (Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen) is looking to fill its Weekday Coordinator position. The Weekday Coordinator is responsible for helping LINK's volunteer serving groups serve free meals at LINK on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. (and other weekday holidays when the Salvation Army is not serving a meal) to anyone in the Lawrence community. While the meal is served during those times, the Weekday Coordinator is on site at LINK from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m to help prepare the kitchen, assist the serving group with getting the meal read to serve, greet and interact with LINK's guests, clean up the dining room and kitchen after the meal with the assistance of volunteers, and other duties that arise. The Weekday Coordinator also is responsible for preparing the meal on days when no volunteer serving group has signed up to volunteer. This is a perfect opportunity for a retired person, someone looking to get experience working with marginalized populations, someone who wants to learn about working in and running a kitchen, or someone looking for an opportunity that really matters and makes a different in people's lives.
