Volunteer: Clothing Closet VolunteersSeeking Volunteers interested in helping prepare the Clothing Closet for daily clients. This may include bring clean/ready donated items up for display and or prepping/hanging made outfits in the Clothing Closet. Additionally, if interested, Clothing Closet volunteers will be able to volunteer in the Clothing Closet with clients as they shop for needed items. The Closet is small and communication/connection is easy. Children may also be visiting with their parent so any help with the little ones appreciated while parents' shop. Clients schedule their Closet appointments on our website. Each appointment is approximately 30 minutes. We can have anywhere from 2-5 appointments a day. Appointments typically scheduled early afternoon. If a volunteer is interested in serving client directly in the Clothing Closet there will be an orientation, short training and staff available to help. Once you've helped in Closet preparation for a while, just let Sarah or staff know if you'd like to also try working with clients directly in the Clothing Closet. We'll work with you. Prefer regular once a week, 2 hr commitment if working in the Clothing Closet. Volunteer: Donation Center - Sorting Donations/Making OutfitsSeeking volunteers who would enjoy sorting K-5 Clothing donations and making 'outfits' to be hung for clients who use our community Clothing Closet. There are several ways to be of support to the Donation Center from laundry, sorting, organizing, as well as making 'outfits' from our clothing donations. (Usually everyone's favorite role!). Donations never end so volunteer support is ALWAYS needed! We would prefer a regular commitment once a week, twice a month or once a month.1.5 hours is a good volunteer time commitment. You can come solo but also encourage groups of 2-4 volunteers. Small groups VERY much welcome! You can get more done in 1.5 hours than one person in 3! However, if you enjoy working solo in a pretty quiet Donation Center area this may be a perfect fit. There is also an option to take clean, sorted by size clothes home to fold and make into outfits. You can return these outfits to the Donation Center ready for the Clothing Closet. Instructions and bins/bags will be provided for you.
