Opportunities From: United Way of Kaw Valley

The Welcome Team has a basic and fundamental mission: To assist and guide the community to support, education, and advocacy opportunities that invoke mental health wellness – one person at a time. To partner with Kansas agencies, freely sharing resources and opportunities that allow peers and family members to stay in the driver seat of their own recovery journey.

In a fun, family friendly, office, or community environment you can: (Social distancing is accommodated)

-Welcome walk-ins and offer printed informational materials.

-Take helpline calls that connect people to community resources and services. (Training available)

-Assisting with mailings.

-Setting up for regular meetings. (Food, beverages, informational supplies, room setup, sanitizing)

-Marketing and social media.

-NAMI Kansas Ambassador events.

-Tasks are ongoing and will adjust based off the current office & event needs.

We are looking for 5 socially driven, high energy people to be Ambassadors to represent NAMI Kansas at Topeka & Lawrence Chamber events and exhibit booths. 

Prior to attending events you will get a NAMI Kansas volunteer orientation so you can become familiar with our programs, fundraising events, and other ongoing initiatives. The goal is to share the NAMI Kansas mission, make invites, and bring back contact information of those wanting more information. 

These events are business casual and Ambassador name tag will be provided.

Events may be attended alone, with another Ambassador, or with a NAMI Kansas staff.

Must be 21 to attend some events.

For exhibit events: Supplies will be provided and will need to be picked up the day before.

Ticket costs, if applicable, will be covered by NAMI Kansas.

NAMI Kansas staff will make all of the RSVP's and reservations.
