OH SNAP
All progress we ever hope to make toward healthy and resilient communities has basic human needs at the core. Our communities, our state, and our entire country are currently strategizing to protect one of those basic needs: access to healthy and affordable food.
Thankfully, SNAP benefits in Kansas were restored on November 7, 2025. However, this does not mean this crisis is over. Due to changes in eligibility criteria, many individuals and families who were receiving SNAP benefits are no longer able to receive that assistance. Additionally, the repercussions from the delay in SNAP benefits delivery are continuing to be felt.
We wanted to keep you informed of some work that has been happening in our communities in response to the SNAP benefits disruption in November due to the federal government shutdown. Here are a few highlights from our entire service area. Please note, information is very fluid and likely to change. Watch our social media for ways to find food resources and ways to help. We'll be gathering information and links on this dedicated web page.
