Home Works USA Community -

Home Works USA is fashioning a bold, new community to help young people leaving foster care.  The Home Works USA Community right outside of Douglas County, Kansas is laying a strong foundation for the futures of these emerging adults aged 18 to 26 years old.  

Emerging adults leaving the foster care system are challenged when securing a place to live.  Housing costs dwarf their earning power and combined with high unemployment and lack of credit history make finding a safe, secure home especially difficult.  Without a safe and secure home all types of problems can arise.

Creating a space where these emerging adults can thrive as they pursue education, employment and entrepreneurial endeavors is what Home Works USA is all about. 

Having a safe, stable, affordable HOME WORKS.  Living in a rural setting with gardens, trail, and orchard in NATURE HELPS.  Connecting with local SERVICES MATTER.

We build affordable Rental Housing for Emerging Adults Aging out of Foster Care.

How you add value by volunteering:

Get the grounds and houses ready for residents.  We need five more houses ready by the end of the year.  We can do it with your help!

Get the grounds ready for residents.  We need the space graded and ready for sidewalks, parking and landscaping.  We can do it with your help!

Spread the word about this project.  We need more volunteers!  You can help us reach more people interested in helping reach our goal of being Resident Ready in 2023!
