Shawnee County Crime Stoppers

Who We Are

The Shawnee County Crime Stoppers program began in 1982 from the efforts of local elected officials and law enforcement leaders. The program operates as an independent organization, completely separate from law enforcement. Crime Stoppers is led by a Coordinator and relies on a volunteer Board of Directors to operate the program. Crime Stoppers receives no tax dollars and is able to pay tip rewards thanks to generous contributions from community partners and individual donors.

What We Do

We promote community participation in fighting crime by empowering citizens to take an active role in helping law enforcement solve crime cases. Members of the community can submit anonymous tips and may receive a cash reward if the information leads to a felony arrest. With help from the public, Crime Stoppers makes Topeka and Shawnee a safer place to live, work, and play.

Our goal is to make it easy for citizens to provide information about crimes and criminals anonymously and receive a cash reward for that information.
