Who We Are
Our Mission: Connecting the community and the legal system through the courts. Volunteering fosters a trusting and collaborative environment within the justice system which advances the welfare of our community.
What We Do
Why Volunteer With Us?
By joining our team, you will help residents access critical legal resources, contributing to a more informed and empowered community. We deeply value your time and dedication and strive to provide a supportive environment that fosters both personal growth and community impact.
Volunteer Opportunities:
Self-Help Office
The office assists residents with finding legal forms as well as providing information about court processes and available resources. You will be making a significant impact in our community by supporting residents in accessing legal information and resources. This role is designed to be both rewarding and enriching, offering a supportive environment where your contributions are valued and your well-being is prioritized.
Citizen Review Boards
Volunteers provide a less formal and collaborative environment to communicate about the progress being made on court orders. Volunteers focus on the best outcome for each child and meet privately with District Court staff to provide their recommendations.
Law Library
The library provides legal and law-related resources that are focused on Kansas practice. The library also provides access to important legal research software. All resources are updated regularly and are available for lawyers, judges and the general public.
