Who We Are

The Homeless Resource Center offers rest and resources to those experiencing homelessness in Lawrence, Kansas. Our mission is to provide immediate critical needs and to foster long-term community-wide solutions for individuals experiencing homelessness. 

Homeless Resource Center (HRC) is a safe and welcoming day center for anyone experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity in Douglas County. We provide a compassionate space where people can rest, recharge, and access the support they need.

What We Do

Our free services include:

  • Hot showers and clean towels

  • Laundry facilities

  • Meals and snacks

  • Free WiFi and device charging

  • Mail service and a secure mailing address

  • Phone access

  • Computer and internet access

  • Bike repair tools and supplies

  • Basic hygiene items and clothing

  • Haircuts

  • Board games and shared activities

  • Self-empowerment classes and skill-building workshops

  • On-site connections to over 20 local organizations offering housing, case management, healthcare, employment support, and more

Whether someone needs help navigating services, a place to warm up or cool down, or simply a community that cares, HRC is here every weekday to offer support with dignity and respect
