This is one of four routine workdays at Lawrence Hidden Valley Camp that is sponsored by Friends of Hidden Valley. Concentrating on the eastern 1/3 of the 40-acre camp, volunteers of all ages are invited to help in spring maintenance tasks to prepare the camp for another year of usage by local Girl Scouts and other youth groups. Tasks include prairie, woods and garden maintenance and plantings, campsite cleanup and renovations, litter pickup, clearing back encroaching growth, and many other projects.
Individuals, groups and families welcome, and any amount of time is appreciated. Everyone will sign in at the main parking lot and be assigned to a specific project under the direction of project leaders. Minors 15 and above may email a request for a waiver to be signed by their parent and brought to the event. No unaccompanied minors under 15. Tools and gloves provided, as well as ice water and refreshments. Please carpool as much as possible and protect yourself against the sun and bugs.
