The City of Lawrence invites residents and small businesses to recycle unused or obsolete electronic equipment. Electronic equipment may contain hazardous components such as lead, mercury and cadmium. Recycling your unwanted electronic equipment keeps these hazardous components out of the landfill.
Rain or Shine Event
DATE: Saturday, March 19th
TIME: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Free State High School parking lot, 4700 Overland Drive
Electronic recycling at this event provided by MRC.
There is no fee for document shredding (maximum of 3 bags/boxes). Secure document shredding will be provided by Jayhawk File Express. Documents will be collected on-site at the event and securely shredded off-site. Documents with staples, paperclips, spring bound papers, and glue bound papers are permitted.
Items accepted for recycling: Computers, Monitors, Printers, Copiers, Scanners, Fax Machines, Televisions*, Video and Audio Equipment, Cell Phones and other Hand Held Devices, Microwaves and other Small Appliances.
* Recycling fee (Cash or Checks ONLY):
$10.00 per CRT computer monitor
$20.00 per CRT television under 27 inches
$40.00 per CRT television over 27 inches
$50.00 per rear projection/console TV
Items NOT accepted: Large Appliances (Refrigerators, AC Units, Dehumidifiers) and Hazardous Waste (Fluorescent Light Bulbs, Compressed Gas Cylinders).
