Welcome to the first point of contact for all visitors at the YWCA! Join us in making connections, utilizing your experience, and making a positive impact in your community. As a Front Desk Reception Volunteer, you will play a vital role in embodying our mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist various individuals, including:
- Families dropping off and picking up children in our Early Learning Center
- Clients seeking support and guidance, ensuring they feel seen, heard, respected, and safe as they are directed to our services
- Generous donors who are contributing to the upliftment of women and families in our community
- Community groups utilizing our conference rooms for meetings
- Government and community leaders who collaborate with the YWCA to create a better future for the Topeka area
Opportunities for Utilizing Your Skills and Experience:
- Apply your administrative expertise by:
- Answering phone calls and in-person visits, effectively directing individuals to the appropriate service providers
- Leveraging your calm, confident, and compassionate presence while interacting with visitors
- Facilitating the workflow and fostering a tone of compassionate professionalism for our advocates, childcare providers, and administrative staff during clients' initial contact with the YWCA
Volunteer Shifts:
- Enjoy the flexibility of minimum shift duration, starting from 2 hours, within our operational hours of 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
- We value the experience you bring, and some training will be provided to familiarize you with our organization and procedures.
