Help families feel welcomed — and keep shared spaces shining
Family Promise of Lawrence is seeking a once‑a‑month Cleaning Volunteer (individual or small group) to help maintain safe, dignified common spaces in our Day Center. Your care helps families feel at ease the moment they walk through the door.
This is a great fit for someone who enjoys short, hands‑on service and wants to make a meaningful impact behind the scenes.
What You’ll Do
- Clean and tidy shared spaces such as the kitchen, bathrooms, living room, and play areas
- Wipe down surfaces, sweep/mop, restock essentials, and help keep the Day Center organized
- Support occasional deeper cleaning tasks as needed (with guidance from staff)
- Help ensure the building feels welcoming, calm, and ready for families each day
Time Commitment
- Once per month
- 1.5–2 hour shifts
- Flexible scheduling during the week (8:30 am - 5:00 pm)
- Great for individuals, pairs, or small groups
