After all of the tabling and donating, we are ready to pack the school supplies and get them to the students of Douglas County! Volunteers are needed to sort and pack supplies so that they can be distributed to students.
Youth under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
We will be packing and sorting at the Salvation Army 1202 E 23rd St, Lawrence, KS 66046 from am - 1:00 pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
Shifts & Duties
9:00am-11:00am
- Check in at the volunteer table
- Receive your task/assignment
- Assist with setting up space for sorting and packing
- Help organize boxes for each school
- Begin sorting supplies
- Work until 11:00 am
- Hand-off to next shift
11:00am- 1:00pm
- Check in at the volunteer table
- Receive your task/assignment
- Assist with packing supplies into backpacks
- Work until 1:00 pm
- Organize the school boxes and ensure counts are met
- Assist with clean up
You will be supported by volunteers of the school supply drive committee: United Way of Kaw Valley, Lawrence Public Schools & Foundation, Eudora Public Schools & Foundation, Baldwin City Public Schools & Education Foundation, ECKAN, and The Salvation Army.
