The Douglas County Back2School Drive runs every July to provide every student in Douglas County with sufficient school supplies to start the year successfully. You can help us achieve this mission by volunteering to pick up school supplies & donation bins from participating locations. These locations will host the donation bin for the month of July, where employees and members of the public can donate school supplies. Donation bins should be picked up from participating locations between Monday, July 27 to Friday, July 31, 2026 during business hours (varies by location). Supplies & bins should be delivered to The Salvation Army, 1202 E 23rd St, Lawrence, KS (office not thrift store) between 9 am-3 pm Monday-Friday. Each volunteer will be assigned 3-7 locations, grouped by general location in Lawrence. Any specific pickup instructions will be shared with you. Large vehicles are a must for supply & bin collection.
