In remembrance of September 11 and in honor of the firefighters and law enforcement officers who dedicate their lives to protecting Shawnee County, volunteers are invited to participate in the Thank Our Service Heroes Card Project.
Volunteers will create heartfelt messages of gratitude and encouragement for local firefighters and law enforcement personnel. Participants may choose to:
- Create and decorate their own thank-you cards, or
- Write personal messages inside cards that are provided.
No special artistic skills are required. Whether through creative artwork or thoughtful words, every card serves as a meaningful reminder that our community appreciates the dedication and sacrifice of these everyday heroes.
This project is suitable for individuals, families, youth groups, corporate teams, and community organizations looking for a simple yet impactful way to give back.

Location: Cards may be completed at home, at your workplace, or at designated community collection sites.
Skills Needed: None. Creativity and appreciation are all that's required.
Age Requirements: All ages welcome.
