Please join Girl Scouts, KU students, Friends members and the public for our Annual Spring Cleanup, Planting and Maintenance Workday at Hidden Valley Camp! Great for individuals, families, and groups, with tasks for all ages! Some of the projects include: planting and mulching saplings, invasive species removal, cleaning up litter in streams and woods, woodpile and fire ring renovations, gardening chores, burning brush in fire rings, and so much more!
The work is from 1 to 4 pm, with scheduled arrival times to spread volunteers out. This is a COVID-safe event, with masks required, and projects are spread out over approximately 10 of our 40 acres. Sign yourself or your group up through the sign up link below, indicating your desire for 1,2, or 3 hours, and how many in your group. You will receive more detailed instructions prior to the event, including information on signing two waivers: our routine Hold Harmless/Assumption of Risk release form and a COVID waiver.

Please note this is a semi-wilderness camp: wear durable clothing you don't mind getting dirty, and TOTALLY ENCLOSED SHOES OR BOOTS are a must. Protect yourself from ticks, chiggers and the sun. We will provide all tools and gloves, but you are welcome to bring your own gloves. Minors under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Minors 15 and above can attend alone by requesting a minor waiver in advance to be signed by a parent/guardian. Carpooling is highly recommended!
