Volunteers are needed to work tables in front of local stores collecting school supplies from shoppers. The annual school supply drive is a vital way in which we can come together to support our community!
Youth under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
We will be tabling outside Hy-Vee on Clinton Parkway from 1pm-5pm on Sunday July 11th.
Be mindful of the weather forecast and dress appropriately. Hourly Weather Forecast
Bottled water will be provided.

Shifts & Duties
12:15pm-2:15pm
- Meet Jasmine at 1307 Massachusetts Street
- Load up tabling equipment and drive to Hy-Vee
- Set up tabling equipment
- Table until 2:00pm
- Hand-off to next shift
2:00pm-4:00pm
- Meet group at Hy-Vee
- Tally supplies collected by previous shift
- Table until 3:45pm
- Tally supplies collected by your shift
- Hand-off to next shift
3:45-5:45pm
- Meet group at Hy-Vee
- Table until 5:00pm
- Tally supplies collected by your shift
- Load up supplies and tabling equipment
- Return all supplies and tabling equipment to United Way at 1307 Massachusetts Street
General duties will include:
- Communicate kindly and effectively with store staff and shoppers
- Solicit donations from shoppers entering and leaving the store
- Sort collected donations by supply type if possible
You will be supported by Erika Zimmerman, volunteer for the school supply drive committee & Jasmine Bates, AmeriCorps Member at United Way of Douglas County.
