Position Title: Text-to-Chat Hotline Support Volunteer
Opportunity Overview:
The Text-to-Chat Hotline was created to increase our outreach to victims and survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and stalking. This hotline provides accessibility to those who may face communication challenges, ensuring they receive the support they need. As a Text-to-Chat Hotline Support Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in offering information, crisis counseling, and referrals to those who utilize the text-to-chat hotline for assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offers information and/or crisis counseling to victims/survivors who utilize the text-to-chat hotline for assistance.
- Makes referrals to other community agencies and resources.
- Documents relevant shift information.
- Actively promotes and supports the organization's mission and vision.
Qualifications:
- Ability to work well with a diverse client population.
- Ability to mediate and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to relate well to victims/survivors experiencing crisis.
- Ability to work independently.
- Comfort with technology and communicating via chat/text.
- Must be punctual and reliable.
