Protects Shawnee County residents from all hazards by providing and coordinating resources, expertise, leadership and advocacy through a comprehensive, risk-based emergency preparedness program of mitigation, management, response and recovery. Through constant communication and coordination, work with community partners to provide a united effort of preparedness, mitigation, and response to the spread of COVID-19. The Incident Command System provides a way for various agencies to come together to work through any issue. It provides a consistent chain of command and is understood cross-agency. The Shawnee County Health Department has been identified as the Incident Command for this situation.
