PAT Mission: To provide the information, support, and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.

What We Do

Topeka Public Schools-Parents as Teachers (PAT) is a FREE Program for soon to be parents and parents with children birth to age 5 that live in the Topeka Public Schools district. Our program operate year-round, providing monthly personal visits to families and group connections focused on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well-being. We support parents throughout pregnancy until their children enter kindergarten. We provide health, hearing, vision and developmental screenings for eligible children using approved screening tools and methods. Parents as Teachers also connect families to resources and help them overcome any barriers to accessing those resources.
