Planting native Kansas wildflowers and grasses in your yard can have enormous advantages for you and wildlife. They are easy to grow, low maintenance, they usually require less water, and they are beautiful! Our native pollinators and other wildlife also use native plants for food and shelter.
The GHF Native Plant Sale will take place during the 14th Annual Lawrence Earth Day Celebration and will feature over 20 varieties of wildflowers and grasses native to Kansas including old favorites like Butterfly Milkweed and Spiderwort, and some more unusual plants like Rattlesnake Master, River Oats, and Cardinal Flower.
GHF Members can pre-order plants for pick up at the event!
All paying GHF members in 2013 or 2014 can place their order ahead of time and pay and pick up at the sale. Members can also choose from a much larger plant list (about 120 species) than those available at the event. For more information about the sale and to receive the members-only plant list, email Kim Bellemere at grasslandheritage@gmail.com or call her at 785-840-8104.
