Basic knowledge of computers and other electronics is critical to life in the U.S. From scheduling appointments online to accessing school and bank websites, maintaining basic computer skills is necessary for completing daily life tasks. However, most refugees have extremely limited digital awareness. Commitment is 2-hours per week for 6 months.
Volunteers help remotely as
'one-to-one' tutors, for example, assisting from their home to conduct a
pre-determined lesson on the computer using the 'Quick Assist' program to guide
clients from their own computer virtually using the client’s computer.
