Description

We are looking for persons willing to help us support women leaving incarceration.  By volunteering as a Mentor you will provide a supportive relationship for a woman incarcerated at the Shawnee County Adult Detention Center and after release into the community. 
Commitment is meeting your mentee once per week either in-person, via phone, or via email.
 
Your goals as a mentor are to:
  • Build a connection with a participant
  • Assist in goal setting, planning for release from incarceration
  • Connect participant to community resources
  • Guide participants through the Intersection to Care program and reintegration
  • Provide encouragement and nonjudgmental listening
  • Provide ongoing emotional support
